Da Stevo: "Friends in H(i)GH Places"

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Rep. Christopher Shays wants to focus on finding the best way to rid baseball of banned drugs. The Connecticut Republican said the sport's leadership deserves the brunt of the blame. Story here.

"Part of it is that Major League Baseball has been incredibly passive on this issue to the point of condoning it," he said. "And so, who do I think is mostly at fault? The *commissioner, frankly, for tolerating it and for not having the guts to step up and say we need changes and if you don't agree with me, then find someone else to run this corrupt process."

(That would be *Mr. Bud Selig)

At least somebody agrees with me...Put that fucker (Selig) on the grill and get the TiVO set-up...I'm in..

***Carpe Diem for "Healing"***

I think one way to help MLB start its "healing" would be to put Roger Maris in the Hall of Fame...NOW...Not only is it overdue but the timing is perfect...It would be a pretty strong statement.

Damage Control 101: ALWAYS play the "Philanthropist" card.

I dunno...If I'm in the public eye and someone accuses me of wrong-doing, and I KNOW I'm innocent of the allegations...It ain't takin' ME 5 days for my lawyer to respond FOR me or 15 to come out on f--kin' YOU TUBE...

"..Tell me 'bout the good ol' days..."...The Judds

"Integrity", much like a rose, is probably in the eye of the beholder...

If you have 2 or 3 individuals out of say...600 that cheat and the other 597 don't, chances are that the sheer numbers of the ones that DON'T would probably prevail in most organizations when it comes to the credibility of that organization....Obviously, the more that cheat, the worse the credibility becomes and that is, without question, the case in MLB.

Whether or not MLB is "ruined", is also in the "eye of the beholder"....I can't speak for anyone other than myself, and for ME...It is.

I ain't tryin' to necessarily make judgements of other peoples morals or integrity, ethics or what have you...I just VENT on these blogs...It's good therapy and maybe even a bit cathartic...

I'm a big boy and this, like most things, will pass...but I certainly have the right to be disappointed because..."The Great American Pastime"...well...

....It just ain't yer Grandpas "game"...
